Answers Magazine
At Answers magazine, I partnered with the Art Director to help modernize the visual identity of this long-running publication exploring faith and science for adult readers. I designed the magazine’s 20th-anniversary cover, created illustrations for feature articles and quizzes, and developed dynamic editorial layouts that brought greater visual energy and clarity to the reader experience.
Beyond the magazine itself, I refreshed the branding for secondary materials and collaborated with the Assistant Editor on social media strategy, helping grow the magazine’s Instagram audience to 1,000 followers. I also contributed to the design and production of four annual issues, working across print and digital materials to maintain a cohesive and engaging brand experience.
Answers, 20.3
Creating the artwork for the “On the Surface” article in Answers 20.3 was a fun and rewarding experience. I enjoyed learning about each animal and how they’re able to “walk” on water. This illustration challenged me as a designer, particularly as I relied heavily on geometric shapes to construct and define the animals.
Designing the rest of the issue was just as fulfilling. I had the opportunity to experiment with different typefaces and intentionally break the grid at times, pushing my layouts beyond my usual approach.
